About Equality for All People
In many parts of Nigeria and some other African countries, LGBTQ individuals face discrimination, rejection, and harsh treatment simply because of their sexual orientation or gender identity. Many are denied equal rights, excluded from families and communities, and sometimes exposed to violence, threats, or public humiliation. Laws and cultural beliefs in some societies also contribute to fear and stigma, making it difficult for LGBTQ people to live freely, access opportunities, or express themselves safely. Despite these challenges, many continue to advocate for dignity, equality, and basic human rights.
